It was easy to dream of going to Mumbai but it was equally difficult to fulfill it, he did not have money for the fare to go to Mumbai, so he started traveling without a ticket with his friends. At a station he was caught by the police for traveling without a ticket and produced before a magistrate. The magistrate gave him the option of paying the fine and staying in jail for a week.
Due to lack of money, he spent a week in jail and after that he reached Mumbai.
When his friends started looking for work, they realized that earning money is not so easy, all of Veeru Devgan’s friends returned back to Amritsar but Veeru remained in Mumbai. In Mumbai, he did everything from small to big work like cleaning cars, doing carpenter work etc.

Veeru Devgan did many jobs through which he earned some money, after earning money, he thought of making a career in Bollywood and tried to get roles by going to different studios. Later he realized that acting was not for him. He entered the Bollywood industry. thought of doing something different, He learned martial arts. He started his career as a Bollywood stuntman with the film “Anita”, with his commendable work as a stuntman, he soon became a famous action choreographer.
As an action choreographer he first worked in the film “Roti Kapda Aur Makaan”. He has worked as a stuntman for many Bollywood actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna, Dilip Kumar, Vinod Khanna, Jeetendra and others. He has worked as a stunt coordinator for more than 80 Bollywood films like Mr. India, Lal Badshah, Prem Granth, Khoon Bhari Maang, Boxer, Shahenshah, Dilwale, Jigar and others. In 1992, he wrote the script of the film “Jigar”. The film starred Ajay Devgan, Karisma Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Gulshan Grover, Paresh Rawal and others.
